This was by far the best class I have yet to take at SLCC. The instructor was very knowledgable and helpful. The class structure is work at your own pace without the instructor micro managing your productivity. With this I could see how it would be really hard to get behind in this class, but if you stay on task and don't get distracted it is actually a really easy class. In this class you learn how to make different types of jewelry and how to use the tools that are required to make the jewelry. The instructor sits down and explains all the steps to complete each of the projects so it is important to pay attention and ask any questions that you might have. The first project was making of three rings two of which were silver and one copper one. The second project involved bending of wire to form a design, symbol or shape of your choosing then soldering these pieces together to form one piece of jewelry. The third project involved cutting a design or shape out of metal and then soldering it to a metal plate. The fourth project was carving rings and a pendent out of wax. this would be used to form a mold that you would later poor the molten metal into to form a piece of jewelry. The fifth project was to combine all of your knowledge and skills you have learned from this course to do a final piece of jewelry.
